Bonnie

Originally from Massachusetts, Bonnie came to Florida for college and has been here in Saint Petersburg for the last 5 years. She is an alumni of Eckerd College and graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies and triple minored in coastal management, visual arts and psychology. She is passionate about animals, animal behavior and conservation, and her psychology background is focused in animal behavior.

She has many years of experience working in animal care from spending a summer working hands on with grey wolves, to a semester working as an intern in the Africa department of Zoo Tampa - caring for elephants, rhinos and other endangered animals while also focusing on conservation and education. She always wanted to work with and train animals, she just didn’t imagine it would be with dogs! After college she worked as a veterinary technician in an animal hospital and was introduced to the world of professional dog training when struggling with behavioral issues with her dog Shiloh.

Shiloh has since become an amazing dog and companion. Bonnie and her partner Andrew were even able to add Peppa, their foster fail, to the family. Training her dogs has drastically improved the quality of all of their lives: “We were able to take 2 fearful rescue dogs that would have never been able to go out in public and turn them into well-behaved and well-socialized girls who love life and people. We were able to do this with training, structure and boundaries. And now I want to do the same for other families and their dogs.” When not training dogs Bonnie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the beach (and on adventures with the dogs!), and photography.
